Baghera

107 Km

Baghera is situated in the Kekri Subdivision of Ajmer, and about 107 Kms south of city. It is well know for archaeological sites. The most renowned of them all is the temple of Varaha Avtar (incarnation of Lord Vishnu in the form of Boar). Near by Varaha Sagar, on the western side of the Vahara Sagar are the ruins of an ancient temple dating to 10th-11th century A.D. There is also a magnificent Torana close to the outer wall of the garh (residence) of the Thakur of Baghera. On the outskirts of Baghera there is a rocky area named Mataji Dungar.

Foy Sagar

Named after the engineer who built it, Foy Sagar is a picturesque artificial lake at Ajmer. It was the result of a famine relief project and has enhanced the beauty of the area.

Kishangarh

27 Km

Kishangarh is 27 Kms north east of Ajmer and was founded by Kishan Singh a Rathore Prince. In the 18th century it acclaimed fame as one of the finest schools of miniatures paintings. It is said that Savant Singh modeled as Krishna while his mistress nicknamed as Bani Thani modelled for Radha. Paintings of Bani Thani are it most celebrated.

5 Km

Tilonia is a small town 25 kms from Kishangarh near Ajmer and 7 kms off Jaipur-Ajmer highway. Barefoot college inspires this town, which began in 1972 with the conviction that solutions to rural problems lie within the community.
